Ze is rond 1937 met haar familie gevlucht naar Nederland. Marjam was half Joods. Daarom mocht ze eigenlijk niet naar onze school, maar toch heeft ze haar eindexamen weten af te ronden. Mirjam is niet gedeporteerd. Maar jammer genoeg is ze op Dolle Dinsdag (de dag dat alle NSB\u2019ers die in Nederland zitten terug proberen te vluchten naar Duitsland, omdat ze te horen kregen dat Nederland elk moment bevrijd kon worden) onder de Gooise tram terecht gekomen, die ook wel de Gooise moordenaar genoemd wordt. Deze tram wordt zo genoemd, omdat er veel ongelukken gebeurde doordat de wegen drukker werden. Ze sprong ongelukkig van de tram af en kwam er met haar benen onder terecht.
